Little is known of Genbu no Miko, Okuda Takiko as she was the first, and died over two hundred years ago. Like her seishi, she only appears as a spirit in the sky.

Background: Taiitsu-kun is a very wise and old magic-user who helps Miaka on her quest. Since she is old, she knows all concerning the Universe of the Four Gods. The sensei of Chichiri, she also has vast power. Taiitsu-kun's helpers, called "Nyan Nyan" (literally Meow Meow), have a habit of taunting her, which often infuriates her such that she sends them into orbit. Unfortunately, like rabbits, they multiply! Her "Nyan Nyan" appear as magical, floating globes that materialize into cute, young girls.

Real Name Yuuki Keisuke Seiyuu Miki Shin'ichirou ("Marugome Kinta" Metal Fighter Miku; "Allen Shezal" Tenkuu no Escaflowne; "Akira Yuuki" Virtual Fighter) Age Probably 18 Background: Keisuke is Miaka's older brother and listens to her story about the Universe of the Four Gods. Suffice it to say, he does not believe her...yet.

Watase Yuu, a manga artist for Shoujo Comics, started out her career with Pajama de Ojama. With that success, she worked for Shogakukan's Flower Comics and produced three manga titles in addition to Fushigi Yuugi: Shinshunki Miman Okotowari (Not Welcome Before Puberty), its sequel Zoku Shinshunki Miman Okotowari (Not Welcome Before Puberty Continued), both three volumes, and a two volume manga called Epotoransu! Mai. Watase Yuu has also had a number of collections, Gomen Asobase! (Sorry Gentlemen!), Magical Nan, Otenami Haiken (Let's See You Up Close), Suna no Tiara (Tiara of Sand), and Mint de Kiss Me. She is currently very busy working on other manga titles for Shoujo Comics and perhaps we might see them cross-over to anime one day.
