Shonen Sunday (continued)
MAJOR
by Mitsuda Takuya

Overview: It has been 4 years since Honda Goro put together the
Mifune Little League. Now, in junior high school, he is reunited
with his old friends and is faced with a new baseball crisis....
This issue: Shimizu, about to pursue Honda to Kaidou High (which has
no softball team), changes her mind after he tells her he'd rather not
see her if she's not playing her beloved softball. She is later
comforted by Komori, who relates how Honda said that those who play
ball under the blue sky will always be his precious friends, no matter
where they may be. Graduation rolls around; Shimizu and Honda bid
each other good-bye. It's the end of an era....
Randomly Selected Brief Updates:
KARAKURI CIRCUS
by Fujita Kazuhiro

Overview: Masaru is a grade school boy who is the heir to a vast
fortune. Shirogane, a French woman who controls a powerful puppet, is
his bodyguard.
This issue: The newest chapter of Karakuri Circus continues. Narumi,
long thought to be dead, is back! In this issue, the partially
amnesiac Narumi and the mysterious and irritating Frenchman Gi are
facing two "automata" assassins: intelligent, mechanical beings
disguised as normal people. The automata are apparently out to kill
the "Shirogane," humans whose job it is to destroy automatons. After
the battle, Gi also explains that Narumi's Ki-based attacks are
capable of destroying the automata far better than most attacks. At
last, Gi produces a magnificent winged puppet named "Olympia" (which
looks suspiciously like Arurukan) and he and Narumi leave Paris,
heading for the birthplace of the Shirogane. But an automaton crow
has marked their departure....
KAZE NO DENSHOUSHA (THE WIND OF FIGHT)
by Yamamoto Satoshi and Wakakuwa Kazuto

Overview: Fuuga Ippei is the lone boy in a martial arts family of
girls. As such, his strong-willed sisters treat him like dirt, yet
are trying to train him to be a man worthy of carrying on the family's
school of fighting.
This issue: Chiaki (Ippei's twin sister) has received a "love letter"
from a sumo wrestler, but it turns out he humiliated his previous
girlfriend by forcing her to wear sumo gear, just to pick a fight with
her karate club. Chiaki can expect no better treatment. To Chiaki's
surprise, Ippei volunteers to beat the sumo guy in her stead and save
her from such a horrible fate, but when he hears about the two-ton
attacks that sumo wrestlers dish out, he gets cold feet. Even his
sisters start wondering if he'd survive a bout when they see the sumo
guy's power. Ippei goes missing soon afterward....
GANBA! FLY HIGH
by Morisue Shinji and Kikuta Hiroyuki

Overview: Fujimaki Shun is a high school boy who has set his aim for
an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics.
This issue: Fujimaki is at last recovering his form, after the
grueling Asian match and the press pressure. Even with an injured
leg, he's returning to practice, watching as his friends warm to a new
rivalry with him. Minoyama comes by to offer encouragement and
explanations. Later, the gymnastics group holds a private farewell
party for its graduates. There, Fujimaki learns he must win the
all-Japan competition to reach the Year 2000 Olympics. Fujimaki isn't
the only one now aiming for the top....
