Shonen Sunday Briefs (continued)
TUXEDO GIN
by Matsuura Tokihiko

Overview: Kusanagi Ginji is a young man in love with Sasebo
Minako, who also loves him. Due to a fatal motorcycle incident,
Ginji is reborn as a penguin and now must live out his natural life
as Minako's pet before he can return to his body....
This issue: Male-hating Helen has temporarily moved
in to work out her dislike of males, but she has for some reason fallen
in love with Minako (who doesn't know it, of course). Ginji, with
Kou's encouragement, begins to fear the worst, and starts imagining
it, too. He even bursts in on an innocent game of Othello. As much
as he's reassured, things are just not very safe with Helen....
DANDOH!!
by Sakata Nobuhiro and Banjou Daichi

Overview: Dandoh is an earnest young boy who has found a
calling in golf. With his friend Yuka and Kouhei, he uses sincerity
and determination as his guides for becoming a pro-golfer.
This issue: Dandoh is facing his
friend and mentor Akano Takuya, who is also working with Dandoh's friend
and ex-caddy Todaka. Takuya manages an eagle on the first hole. Dandoh's
new caddy, a Thai girl named Luca, knows all about the course, especially
the flow of the wind. With her help, Dandoh nearly does the same as
Takuya, but his ball just barely misses the hole.
AYUMU NO KOMA
by Murakawa Kazuhiro (with supervision by Fukaura
Kouichi (6th rank))

Overview: Yukimura Ayumu is a brilliant young shogi player who
was brought back to his dream of becoming a pro by his old friend and
fellow-player Kitayama Keiko.
This issue: A girl named Kaori approaches Ayumu and
asks that he teach her shogi, because her brother has gone far away and
her father no longer has a shogi opponent. Ayumu, thinking her brother
has died, agrees. Keiko, watching Ayumu and Kaori, begins to think the
two are going out. Just as she's ready to despair, she realizes what
was really happening, and she admires Ayumu's kindness to others. But
it's only afterward that Ayumu and Keiko find out Kaori's brother is
hardly dead (he's in America), and neither is thrilled by Kaori's
continuing interest in shogi.
