His small crew consists of swordsman Roronoa Zorro, navigator/cartographer Nami, gunner "Captain" Usopp and chef Sanji. The five teens arrive at Logue Town, the town known as "the beginning and the end." Here in the town that the legendary king of pirates Gold Roger started and ended his life, Luffy is reunited with Buggy and Albida—who are after Luffy's neck much like Smoker and the Marines. Will the rubber-band boy escape his foes and set sail onto the Grand Line?

I"S
by Katsura Masakazu
Started in #19, 1997 (11 volumes available)

Overview: This is a story about Seto Ichitaka and his love life. Now that Ichitaka and his long-time crush Iori have realized their feelings for each other, he thought things would go smoothly from then on. However, Izumi still hasn't given up hope...and she doesn't know that Ichitaka is now dating Iori because Iori's talent agent wants Ichitaka to keep their relationship a secret! What will happen now that Izumi shows up at the hotel that Ichitaka and company were spending vacation time in?
This Issue—Episode 110: Secret - Izumi appears in front of a bewildered Ichitaka, along with Kida (the guy who is seriously obsessed with Iori). Nami manages to force the two intruders out, and the group starts talking about what to do. Iori asks Ichitaka why he can't come out and say that he's going out with her, but Ichitaka counters that he doesn't know what that fanatic boy will do (and that her agent is telling him to keep it hush-hush). Koshinae asks Ichitaka why he can't be honest about his relationship with Iori to Izumi. Iori asks him why he can't, saying that if he felt nothing for her he would be able to tell her about them. Ichitaka runs away, saying that his interest (or lack thereof) wasn't the problem. The real problem was that he actually was hiding something from Iori and not Izumi...as illustrated by Izumi's embrace as soon as she was alone with Ichitaka.

YU-GI-OH!
by Takahashi Kazuki
Started in #42, 1996 (14 volumes available)

Overview: Life for Yuugi, a shy high-school boy, changed when he finished solving the Millenium Puzzle, a 3-D jigsaw puzzle that took him 8 years to solve. From that day on, he developed a second "dark" personality that challenged any wrongdoers to a Shadow Game where losing meant more than just losing a game. However, the Millenium Puzzle was stolen by a long-time rival of Yuugi's grandfather. Now Yuugi must play alone to defeat Otogi Ryuuji to save his other persona! How will he overcome the biggest and most challenging game of his life?
This Issue—Battle 140: The Bond Breaks!! - Yuugi manages to summon a Black Ninja and defeat the Dark Eye Stalker. Ryuuji fails a summon, and Yuugi manages to sneak the Ninja in to shave Ryuuji's Life Point. However, Ryuuji manages to summon a God Orgus, level it up one level, and give it 2000 attack points using stock attack points. The Orgus attacks the Ninja, but Yuugi's quick thinking has him apply his stock magic points and has the Ninja use the "hide" ability. Refusing to give up saving his other self, Yuugi attacks again with the Ninja and lowers Ryuuji's Life Points to 1. Just then, Ryuuji's father comes on the scene, and attempts to "help" his son by dismantling the Millenium Puzzle in front of Yuugi's eyes! Yuugi cries at the apparent loss of his other self. Meanwhile, Bakura stands in front of the Black Crown toy store with his Millenium Ring, feeling the change in the condition of the Millenium Puzzle.

HOUSHIN ENGI

Started in #28, 1996 (16 volumes available)

Overview: Taikoubou is a sennin (a wizard of sorts) sent on a mission to seal away the souls of the evil temptress Datsuki and her henchmen. But this project, called the Houshin Project, had to do with more than just Datsuki's whims—and evolved into an armageddon between the sennin of Kongrong and those of Kingou. The war has ended, but with too many sacrifices on both ends. Meanwhile, Youzen gathers up the forces in Shuu to attack Ying, and Datsuki continues on her path to make Chuuoh into a hideous monster. Back to our hero: once past the clouds, Taikoubou finds himself in Tougenkyou (Shangri-La) where a guide named Ryobou greets them.

Enishi loses it and punches the gunman down, but is stopped by Kenshin before he can pummel the guy to death. Kenshin tells Enishi that he doesn't want to see anyone die in front of him again, and that Enishi will never see Tomoe's smile if he continues a life of sin ... but he is thankful that his brother-in-law stepped in to protect Kaoru. While Enishi realizes whom he really wanted to protect, Kenshin returns to Kaoru's warm embrace.
