This is where EX shares some of its mail with
the rest of its readers so that you, the fans, know what other fans
are thinking.
We love to get mail from our readers. However, please
remember that EX is not a store and we do not
sell the merchandise we review. Check your local comic and hobby shops
(and other places that carry anime items) if you're interested in
purchasing any of these products. And, if all else fails, you can try
some of the stores
available online. But please don't ask us to sell
things to you. (The mark up would be terrible.)
And to address another frequent request: no, we don't give out codes
and cheats to games. However, starting this issue we will link the
game reviews to corresponding FAQ pages at
GameFaqs whenever possible. We
hope this helps.
Thanks again, and keep those letters coming!

To be quick and straight to the point, I saw an anime magazine the
other day that my friend was reading, I doubt it was anything from
EX. But I got word that you guys do actually
have your own magazine. If this is true, were can I get one? What
does it look like? And are there a ton of pretty, pretty pictures
and artwork included. I didn't know you guys had one, but if its
any thing like your web site, then I've gotta have one (even if
its only in Japanese) I just love the cool looking anime pictures!
No, there's not a print version of EX, only the online version. However, earlier this
year we did do a second CD Rom, which contains
the issues 2.4 to 4.4,
as well as an original manga story. Check out the CD
page for more information.

I just discovered EX yesterday!
I've been an anime fan for a few yearsever since I
read about AKIRA in NEWSWEEK and then saw it on the SciFi channel.
I've had problems in deciding which anime to watch. I've
occasionally put effort into searching for an anime review resource.
This is how I found EX, and I value your
movie reviews. I'm writing with hope that you will be able to point
me to an online or print resource(s) that I could use to separate
the wheat from the chaff.
EX is the place! We have
all our back issues online, just check the Archive section of the site.
Or, if you're looking for a particular title, go to the search page and type in what
you're looking for.

Hi! I just saw PERFECT BLUE. Although I recommend
it as an excellent work, it didn't really clicked into me... anyway,
your review says that the wide release version has changes (from the
first/preview cut?): "Only ten seconds of animation were altered, but
it puts an entirely different twist on the end of the film." Could
you please elaborate on this?
Many thanks.
This review was written about the original
Japanese release some time ago, and as such it's difficult to really
know what has changed from the preview. However, Manga Entertainment
will be releasing PERFECT BLUE on video in
three different versions at the end of November: subtitled uncut,
dubbed uncut, and dubbed edited. According to Manga Entertainment,
the cuts were made to ensure that the film received an R
rating.

I was just re-watching GIANT ROBO, and now I
can't stop wondering if another GR series or
another episode or something is in production. Do you know?
There aren't any public plans for a sequel at
this time. After GIANT ROBO ended, director
Imagawa Yasuhiro went on to another giant robot show, SHIN GETTER ROBO. However, due to creative
differences with the production company, he has since left the
project. Fans wait eagerly to see what Imagawa will do
next.

Marvellous site!
Just wondering, it's a bit hard to browse around because
the whole site is in magazine format. Would it be too much work to
put one "index" section that would further be divided into "reviews",
"interviews" etc. sections? It would help alot. Now I'm just randomly
writing some manga/anime names I know to your search engine....
Also, how about putting a possibility for people to write
comments about manga and anime? You know IMDB
(Internet Movie DataBase - http://www.imdb.com)? I'm thinking
about that kind of thing, but just for manga and anime. I know, it's
darn much work, but the miracle is that it is mostly the users that
do it. You only should do the base and keep your eyes on things....
It is actually horrible how few good manga/anime sites
there is in English. People are keeping their small sites with couple
reviews and stuff, but one big "world's center of manga/anime world" is
missing..... there's a space for you to fill.... maybe?
Anyway, your site has helped alot already. I'm living in
Japan right now and am so in the middle of tons of CHEAP manga and anime. Just unfortunately it would
take forever to check them all out if they are worth of buying....
so, thank you for checking them for me. ;-)
Anyway, please keep on with the good work. It's nice to see
a well designed, fast, user friendly and information containing site
these days when most of the things out there are multimedia-nonsense....
You know, with all these questions, I'm starting
to feel like it's time to repost the EX FAQ in
the letter column or something. Yes, we have an index for each issue;
actually, each issue has a table of contents which lists what's in
each section for every issue. Click on the "contents" button in the
top right of a particular page to go the table of contents for that
particular issue. And don't forget to check out the Archive section of EX for a complete list of all our back issues
(although the archive descriptions don't lists all the reviews in
them.)

Will RUROUNI KENSHIN survive on American
Television? I don't think so. Can they show it late at night so it
won't have to be "cut up" so much. I hear it was going to be on Cartoon
Network as SAMURAI X. Is that true?
All that's been said is that Sony intends to
try to find it a home on television. With the Cartoon Network's recent
announcement that they want to increase their anime programming, this
would be a logical choice. But as far as we have been told, nothing
has been set.

I have seen a new series at AnimeVillage.com called BRAIN POWERED. I have been very interested in this
series, but have been unable to find any reviews and little
information on it. It looks to be a very interesting show.
I ran a search for the show on your site, but I could not
find it. So here comes the questions:
 |
1. |
Do you plan on reviewing it? If yes, when? |
| 2. |
Do you know of any good places that review it, besides
yourselves of course? |
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your help, keep up the
good work with the magazine.
BRAIN POWERED was
Tomino's newest series (until TURN A
GUNDAM, anyway), and was the show that he said would
outdo EVA. You can be the judge for yourself,
but we reviewed the original
Japanese version some time ago, and a review of the domestic
release is in this very issue!
The reason you couldn't find it in our index is because
Sunrise decided to change the spelling of BRAINPOWERD and added the extra e to make it
correct.
