MAJOR
by Mitsuda Takuya

Overview: Honda (Shigeno) Goro, from his early years in grade school, has been striving to become a professional baseball player like his deceased father. Now, in Kaidou high school, he is facing new challenges.
This issue: Honda's team is still facing the elite Kaidou team. Satou is facing a difficult knuckleball pitcher. However, Satou has figured out the trick of defeating him: wearing him out. Satou hits foul after foul, not only tiring the pitcher, but angering him, too. When told to walk Satou, the pitcher instead pitches an on-target ball that Satou turns into a home run. His pride being his downfall, the knuckleballer is told to pack his bags and leave. A new pitcher is brought in....

TENSHI NA NAMAIKI ("A CHEEKY ANGEL")
by Nishimori Hiroyuki

Overview: As a young boy, Amatsuka Megumi was magically transformed into a pretty girl. Now a totally gorgeous high school student, s/he and friend Miki are the only ones who know this, and are busy fending off his/her admirers.
This issue: Megumi has run into Kobayashi, a handsome and strong young student who has distinct ideas of femininity and responsibility. He berates Megumi for helping him in a fight in which the opponent had a knife, since if she got hurt, it would be his responsibility. Then, Megumi and Genzou find a tiny fighter-shaped doll and (after laughing at it and mocking it) find out it's Kobayashi's, a keepsake of a presumably deceased friend. Megumi somberly returns it to him, only to have him tell her it was a lie. Later, Kobayashi is beaten up by a group of lowlifes who used a fake hostage to keep him from fighting back. They take the tiny doll from him and, at the train station, discuss their plan to throw it from a train. Megumi overhears them....

KARAKURI CIRCUS
by Fujita Kazuhiro

Overview: Masaru is a grade school boy who is the heir to a vast fortune. Shirogane, a French woman who controls a powerful puppet, is his bodyguard. Far away, their friend Narumi is becoming embroiled in an ancient battle against evil living puppets.
This issue: Narumi is in America with Guy and Lucille, at a hospital (supposedly in Illinois) devoted to children with Zonopha disease. He has learned the horrible truth: the children die at a horrendous rate, and the staff is so heartsick they have been reduced to using drugs to keep themselves smiling for the children. More, he learns the worst truth: of those children ill with Zonopha, many fall into a state in which they cannot die, and live on in helpless suffering. Lucille offers the devastated Narumi a mask that belonged to the first Shirogane (Silver) to fight the puppets, a mask to hide away his heart so that he can fight Hell effectively. As Narumi ponders, the Shirogane George comes by, informing them that the automata Dr. Paulman, Anzelmus, and their suit-clad troops have arrived at the gates....

DANDOH!!
by Sakata Nobuhiro and Banjou Daichi

Overview: Dandoh is an earnest young boy who has found a calling in golf. With his friend Yuka and Kouhei, he uses sincerity and determination as his guides towards becoming a pro-golfer.
This issue: Dandoh and Yuka are at last in junior high, and Yuka (now with long hair and much prettier) already has an admirer: Asami, also a junior high freshman. Slimy, lazy and obnoxious, Asami not only secretly finds and burns love letters sent to Yuka, but he joins the golf club that Dandoh started just to hang out with her (he is a tad perturbed that her hands feel as rough as hardened leather, though). When he realizes the "golf club" might turn into real work, instead of an easy ride, and that Dandoh and Yuka want the club to enter an amateur competition, Asami decides to chase Dandoh out of the club and get Yuka all to himself.

RECCA NO HONOO
by Anzai Nobuyuki

Overview: Recca is a fire-wielding high school freshman ninja. He and his friends, who are aligned with the four elements, are up against a new evil....
This issue: Yanagi has fallen prey to Mori, and is in danger of losing more than just her life in Mori's desire to turn her spirit to his own gain. In preparation for battle, Recca has gone off to acquire the last of the fire dragons, Resshin. In the meantime, his friends have been given three days in which to think about their paths. Of them, this issue looks at Koganei Kaoru. Rambunctious and cheerful, and even willing to buy booze and cigarettes for Recca's father, he is rapidly becoming a family member at the Hanabishi household. At his new junior high, he makes a bunch of new friends (mostly adoring girls), and makes a big enemy named Sano Hiroya. But the irrepressible Kaoru finds Hiroya a lot like Domon, and even enjoys his company. In other words, Kaoru is thoroughly enjoying the three days of normal life—not knowing that his enemies are gathering near from all sides, eager for the kill.
