The EX Holiday Gift Guide (continued) Crank up the volume for these CDs:
Michael Poirer: "Duvet" CD Single by BOA from SERIAL EXPERIMENTS LAIN. An amazing and emotional song from a provacative and intense anime. After I kept playing the intro track on my DVD over and over just to hear this song, I realized I was better off just getting the CD! One cool thing about this singleit's a tiny little thing, with a diameter no wider than the average human thumb. Mark Johnson: Okui Masami's 5th album, Her-Day. Ever since discovering Okui Masami a couple of years ago, I discovered many of my favorite songs were done by her (SLAYERS, BAKURETSU HUNTERS, UTENA, AKIHABARA DENNOUGUMI). Ivevei Upatkoon: KIMAGURE ORANGE ROAD SINGING HEART^2 CD Box Set. KOR wouldn't be half as memorable without the music. You can find everything, from image songs to 3 different versions of the same 5 second tune, in this set of seven CDs. As if that wasn't enough, the other goodies make this a must-have, if you can find it. Keith Rhee: BUBBLEGUM CRISIS COMPLETE VOCAL COLLECTION (3 disc set). Missed the chance to get the two vocal collection discs years back before they were discontinued? They've been re-released, and this time they also include the vocals from BGC 8 (the original two discs only featured the vocals up to episode 7). Still some of the best pop 'n rock music in anime, and a lot better than the mixed bag that is the music for the BGC2040 remake. Rika Takahashi: COWBOY BEBOP soundtracks. You should wait until you see the finale before you get the third CD (BLUE), but the first two (COWBOY BEBOP, and NO DISC) are well worth it if you didn't get them last year. The remix album MUSIC FOR FREELANCERS is a love-it-or-hate-it kind of album, but the simulated radio drama is rather amusing. Lain Copyright © Triangle Staff, Pioneer LDC.
