But Gorou is worried about his straight pitches, which were insufficient against the true elite, until Taizou approaches him and offers to help him develop his pitching, purely because Gorou reminds Taizou of his and Shizuka's late elder brother. First task: Gorou is locked into a room and is told to fold a thousand origami cranes. At first rebellious, he suddenly realizes the exercise might develop his finger strength. He finishes the five-day task in two days, but is next told to fold a thousand "helmet" origami forms...

Megumi is unusually pensive, and agrees to go on separate dates with both Genzou and Fujiki in thanks for their help. While Genzou and Fujiki get into a shouting match, Miki checks with Megumi and discovers she is planning to go to Germany to live with her mother—all to avoid getting her friends into more danger.
