Production Notes...

Unfortunately, due to life, job, and a general lack of money, I was unable to attend
AX 2000.
For most other people, missing an anime convention isn't such a big deal. It wasn't
the fact that I missed the Exhibit Hall, getting a sketch from a favorite artist, or the Cosplay.
For me and other EX staffers, AX represents the best
opportunity for us to gather and actually physcially see each other.
Being an online magazine means that we can draw on people from all over the world who
are connected together by Internet and their anime hobby. The downside to our collaboration is
that faces become hard to attach to names. In fact, I'm sure that there are still people
that I haven't met. Such is the life of an EX staffer. One rather nice
consolation is that since I'm on the HTML Production staff, I get to read
all about AX as I work.
Next year I hope to be in a much more comfortable situation that will allow me to leave
Iowa for a week (yes, there are anime fans here), head to California and try to vaguely remember
who is who in EX. And after I'm done running around doing stuff for
EX to cover AX 2001 I'll have to try to get Charles to
buy me dinner.
