Ever watch those scary horror films like Dracula, the Werewolf, or Frankenstein? Ever wonder what it would be like if those characters were in a video game? Look no further because Capcom has created an awesome fighting game called NIGHT WARRIORS - DARKSTALKERS' REVENGE!
The successful sequel to DARKSTALKERS, NIGHT WARRIORS (VAMPIRE HUNTER in Japan) continues the tournament of horror. In addition, four new characters have been added to the cast of frightening fighters.
The original cast of ten characters returns: Demitri Maximoff (Vampire), Jon Talbain (Werewolf), Victor von Gerdenheim (Frankenstein), Lord Raptor (Zombie), Morrigan Aenslaed (Succubus), Anakaris (Mummy), Felicia (Cat Woman), Bishamon (Cursed Samurai), Rikuo (Merman), and Sasquatch (Bigfoot).
They are joined by four new characters: Donovan Baine, a Dark Hunter, who is out to kill all Dark Stalkers; Hsien-Ko, a Chinese Ghost, who wants revenge against the Dark Stalkers that killed her mother, sister, and herself in the 1700s; Huitzil, a Mayan Robot, who has been sent to protect the people of Central America from great evil; and Pyron, an alien, who thinks he should rule the Dark Stalkers.



Darkstalkers is illustrated in the same anime-influenced style used in Street Fighter Alpha.		 Each Dark Stalker has special moves, including such favorites as Demitri's devastating Hellfire move, Jon Talbain's lightning fast Luna's Hammer, Victor von Gerdenheim's wind-whipping Whirlwind Punch, or Morrigan's deadly Fire Bat. The new characters have comparably deadly moves like Huitzil's exploding Plasma Beam, Pyron's heart-ripping Soul Smasher, Donovan's hotter-than-hell Flame Sword, and Hsien-Ko's shadowy Dark Artillery.
This is your basic fighting game which is very similar to STREET FIGHTER ALPHA in look and feel. The player has a health meter, special gauge, and a special move stock counter. The health meter keeps track of how much health is left. The special gauge keeps track of the special moves power that the player obtains after each attack. The special move stock counter keeps track of how many special moves have been stored up.
As the player performs attacks, he acquires special moves, Enhanced Special (ES) Moves and Extra Special (EX) Moves. ES Moves are powerful moves which can be used with a certain button combination. EX Moves are like ES Moves, but they are even more damaging and use a slightly different button combination.
There are different modes in this game: a VS Mode where the player and his friend can play each other or an Arcade Mode where the player plays the computer. The player has an Options Mode, Game Difficulty, Time Limit, Turbo Speed, Shortcut, Screen Size, Sound Mode, Default, Data Reset, and Button Configuration.
NIGHT WARRIORS stays true to its conversion from its arcade counterpart, and for the avid fighting game player it is the perfect game! I recommend this game to anyone who loves the horror genre and fighting games. Pick it up now!
