Art Show
The Art and Modeling Show is always a popular place with attendees, as it shows off the creative side of anime fandom. This year was no exception, and some great pieces were present. Among the truly amazing were the Gundam models that were created entirely out of paper, as well as a bronze statue of Sheeta from LAPUTA.
Every year, the art in the Art Show becomes more elaborate, and attendees and Guests alike come to admire the works on display. This year, there was also a special display of art by Guest of Honor Gotoh Keiji, who brought some of his work from NADESICO to show to the fans.

Takada Akemi Exhibition
Another first for Anime Expo was an exhibition of the original artwork by Guest of Honor Takada Akemi. Sponsored by GoFa (The Gallery of Fantastic Art), this exhibition brought 20 pieces of Takada's original art to Anime Expo.
Among them were many fan favorites, as the exhibit consisted primarily of pieces from KIMAGURE ORANGE ROAD and MOBILE POLICE PATLABOR. Ms. Takada stated that she chose the works that "she felt best about," and she wanted her audience to share her feelings with them.
To commemorate the event, GoFa brought some special merchandise: limited edition posters, T-shirts, and very limited-edition lithographs of three of Ms. Takada's most popular illustrations from ORANGE ROAD. In addition, on Monday Ms. Takada made a special appearance at the exhibition. She thanked all the fans for coming, and then proceeded to hold yet another autograph session much to the excitement of her fans.
