It Bears Repeating...

Usually, this is where EX shares some of its mail with the rest of its
readers so that you, the fans, know what other fans are thinking. But, for this issue, we have
a FAQ of some of the questions we get asked most frequently via e-mail.
Traffic of late seems to be a lot of these questions so we decided to post a second
FAQ here. Please take note of it as well as our
previous FAQ.
Thanks again, and keep those letters coming!

Q: How can I order the merchandise you have on
your pages?

A: We're not a store, we simply review products. If you want to find
these items online, we suggest you try the shopping section of the
Anime Web Turnpike for the most up-to-date list of stores. We
have also put together a small list of stores that some
of the EX staffers shop at.
Q: I read your interview with <insert famous
person's name here>. Can you give me their email address or contact information?

A: Please note that, as a professional courtesy, we do not give out
private email addresses or other contact information of the people we interview. (Can you imagine
what would happen if we did?) If the person has a webpage, we usually list it in our interviews,
but we do not give out any other information on how to contact people.
Q: Can I buy DRAGONBALL Z FINAL
BOUT from you guys?

A: No, you can't. (We still get a lot of email about this
game...)
Q: Can you write an article on <insert show
name here>?

A: We oftentimes do entertain ideas like this from our readers, but
we're not going to be able to write about every manga or every anime or every artist. After all,
EX is a volunteer organization after all. (And some topics have had so
much written on them that it would be beating a dead horse.)
Q: Why don't you review H
titles?

A: Because we know a lot of little kids read EX,
and we don't want to be responsible for anyone seeing something they shouldn't. Besides, there's a
lot of stuff that we can cover that is more suited to a wider audience?
Q: When is MONONOKE HIME
coming out on DVD in the U.S.?

A: It's out (as of December 18, 2000) and you
can read about it in our review in this
issue. Please stop asking.
Q: Is <insert title here> any good?

A: This is a subjective question. While one person may like a show,
another may think it is the worst waste of film ever. Such differences of opinion happen with
EX reviewers, just like with everyone else. This is one of the reasons that
we started running follow-up reviews.
Q: EX has been kind of
sporadic lately. What's up with that?

A: EX is an all-volunteer publication. And
sometimes other commitments get in the way. But we still try to put out a quality publication, even
if it is a little less frequently than we would like.

Our Mail Policy:

We read all of the mail we receive. Readers who submit mail may receive
personal replies via e-mail, a reply in the letter column, or in some
instances, both.
All letters sent to EX (or any
of its staff regarding the magazine) are eligible for inclusion in the
letter column. Letters may be edited for clarity and brevity.
If you don't want your e-mail address printed, please tell us.
If you would prefer that your letter not be published at all, please
inform us of this as well.
By the way, we here at EX
try to keep things on a mature, intelligent level. This includes the
publishing of our mail. The following are sure-fire ways to
disqualify your response from being printed in the letter
column...

|
WRITE IN UPPER CASE. This will guarantee immediate rejection. |

|
fail to use capital letters at the start of sentences or when using words
like ranma and macross. |

|
Use inane words and phrases such as 'Ranma sucks' or 'Robotech rocks'. |

|
Use punctuation in an inappropriate and outlandish fashion !!!!?????? |

|
Profanity and personal attacks will also wind up in the trashcan. |
In general, it's best that you have something to say. So let's hear from
you!
